Lisa's debut album, Sea Sew, is one of ten albums shortlisted for the Choice Music Prize this year.
According to their website,
The Choice Music Prize was established to highlight those albums which deserve some extra time in the spotlight and, ultimately, to select the album which best sums up the year in Irish music. Each year, a panel consisting of 12 media professionals, representing Irish print, radio and TV select the Choice Music Prize shortlist. This consists of 10 albums released by Irish acts for the very first time in any given calendar year. Instead of using sales or airplay as criteria, the Choice Music Prize judges focus, simply and solely, on the music.
Past winners have been Julie Fenney, The Divine Comedy and Super Extra Bonus Party. The 2008 Irish Album of the Year winner will be announced on March 4 at Vicar Street in Dublin. Tickets for the event are available now through Ticketmaster.

In the meantime, for anyone in the Los Angeles area, Lisa and the band will be doing an in-store performance at Fingerprints on November 1. For full details on all of Lisa's upcoming shows visit the Engagements page.
On September 29, Lisa and the band did a session on Radio Ulster's "Across The Line" program. We've got the three tracks right here for you. Take a listen to these live versions of "An Ocean and A Rock", "Sea Song" and "Lille".
We've added a new video to the Sea/Hear page. The video is of Lisa singing "The Man I Love" on September 7 in Spiegeltent. The performance was during Cathy Davey's evening, "Songs that Scare Children", part of Wilde On at this year's Fringe.
Lisa's album, Sea Sew is out in stores across Ireland today, and we're very excited. If you don't happen to live in Ireland, you can still get the album. It's on sale to the rest of the world exclusively through the Store Cupboard. You can choose to get either the CD, or download the album and start listening now.
