John Martyn Tribute Album

There's a new tribute album in the works for the late John Martyn, on which Lisa will perform a track from his 1977 release, One World. The singer-songwriter passed away last January while recording his next album, Willing to Work.

So far, twenty-two artists have signed up to pay tribute to Martyn on the forthcoming compilation, which doesn't have a title or release date as yet. As soon as we have more details, we'll let you know about it here. Until then, Martyn's site has posted a partial artist and track list for the tribute album.

Nick Drake Tribute on BBC 4

BBC Four will be airing The Songs of Nick Drake: Way to Blue this Friday, April 16 at 9 pm. Recorded at the Barbican in London this past January, the concert includes Lisa performing "At the Chime of a City Clock" and "Black Eyed Dog".

Meltdown Tribute to Kate McGarrigle

London's Southbank Centre announced the initial line-up for Richard Thompson's Meltdown this morning. For eleven days in June, songwriting and guitar-playing legend Richard Thompson will take over Southbank Centre's riverside venues and spaces as the 17th director of Meltdown. A diverse programme of concerts - covering everything from blues, Cajun, folk and soul to punk, indie and classical - talks and films, reflecting the eclectic tastes, influences and passions of an artist whose restless versatility has kept him consistently creative throughout his forty year career.

On Saturday 12 June at 4:30 pm, Lisa will be part of a gathering of friends and family for a Celebration of Kate McGarrigle, who died in January 2010. This very special event, put together by legendary producer Joe Boyd, includes performances by her children Martha and Rufus Wainwright, and sister Anna McGarrigle. Joining Lisa in this tribute to Kate will be Emmylou Harris; Lily Lanken; Sylvain Lanken; Jenni Muldaur, Beth Orton, Linda Ronstadt; Kami Thompson; Linda Thompson; Richard Thompson; Teddy Thompson and Krystle Warren.

Lisa on "Last Call" Again!

Tune into Last Call with Carson Daly this Wednesday, March 10 to catch Lisa and the band performing Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus". The video was recorded during the November 9, 2009 show at Orpheum in LA. The program airs on NBC at 1:35 am EST. There's exciting news on the EP front. First off, you can pick up Live at Fingerprints, a live recording of six songs from Lisa's appearance at Fingerprints record store last November. The digital download is available now exclusively at ThinkIndie.com.

The EP will see a wider release, including a physical CD through indie stores, on December 15, and beginning Friday, November 20, you can drop by the Store cupboard to reserve your limited edition copy of Live at Fingerprints.

Available now from iTunes US is the digital single for "Lille". The single includes a new edit of the track, the instrumental version, and a live rendition recorded at Fingerprints. If you live outside of the US, you'll be able to purchase the single in the Store Cupboard, also starting Friday.

While Lisa and the band were in Toronto on Monday, they also did an in-studio podcast with Brad Frenette of the National Post. Starting today, you can watch video of the session and listen to the full podcast.

Lisa and the band were delighted to start their US tour in the lovely Gramercy Theater last night. Tonight is the official kickoff of their supporting stint for David Gray's US tour. While she's on the road, Lisa will be doing a number of promotional appearances, starting Sunday.

To accomodate an appearance on Later with Jools Holland, the dates for Lisa's shows in Brighton and Bristol have been postponed until July. The Bristol date at Fleece is now on July 14, and the Brighton date at Komedia is now on July 15.

All tickets sold for the original May dates will be honoured for the July shows. If you bought tickets for either of these shows through the LisaHannigan.ie presale and can't make the new dates, please contact us at help@LisaHannigan.ie.

Two In-Store Appearances

Lisa and the band will be appearing at two record shop in-stores in the next two days. If you're in Nashville, head down to Grimey's New & Preloved Music by 6 pm on March 11. The next day, March 12, you can catch the band at Ear X-Tacy in Louisville, also at 6 pm.

In Canada, the show airs on the Comedy Network at 11:30 PM EST and on CTV at 12:35 AM (March 10) EST. In Ireland and the UK, Colbert airs on a one-day delay on FX UK (Sky channel 164, Virgin Media channel 157 and Tiscali TV channel 10). Check your local listings for times in your area.

Lisa will be playing 3 gigs at the South By Southwest Music Conference in Austin Texas this March. On the 19th, she and the band will be at The Parish at 9 PM. The next day, they'll be doing a set at BD Riley's at 12:35 PM, then later they'll be at the Central Presbyterian Church at 11 PM.

She's been chosen as Best Irish Female, Sea Sew was selected as Best Irish Album and Best Debut Album, and "I Don't Know" took top spot in the Best Irish Track category. Lisa was also in the top 3 in the "Love of the Year" category, alongside the Electric Picnic and US President Barack Obama!

Lisa has signed with US record label ATO, which means Sea Sew, will be available stateside. ATO will release the album on January 20, 2009. The new deal also means that Sea Sew will be available through North American retailers like iTunes US and Amazon.

Lisa to play "Gigs For Children In Gaza"

On February 6 & 7, at Vicar Street in Dublin, a host of Irish musicians will be gathering in support of Tuesday's Child, including Lisa. The concerts will raise funds to provide relief to Palestinian children affected by the ongoing war.

I am very honoured to be involved with such a wonderful project, Tuesday’s Child is bringing hope and care to those most vulnerable

Tickets for the events are €25 and go on sale through Ticketmaster this Friday Jan 23rd @ 9am. All proceeds will go towards the Tuesday’s Child emergency relief fund for food, water, milk, medicines, mattresses and blankets, which was launched on New Year’s Eve. "Sea Sew" Is Choice Music

Lisa's debut album, Sea Sew, is one of ten albums shortlisted for the Choice Music Prize this year.

According to their website,

The Choice Music Prize was established to highlight those albums which deserve some extra time in the spotlight and, ultimately, to select the album which best sums up the year in Irish music.

Each year, a panel consisting of 12 media professionals, representing Irish print, radio and TV select the Choice Music Prize shortlist. This consists of 10 albums released by Irish acts for the very first time in any given calendar year.

Instead of using sales or airplay as criteria, the Choice Music Prize judges focus, simply and solely, on the music.

Past winners have been Julie Fenney, The Divine Comedy and Super Extra Bonus Party. The 2008 Irish Album of the Year winner will be announced on March 4 at Vicar Street in Dublin. Tickets for the event are available now through Ticketmaster.

Tune in to the CW (Global in Canada) for tomorrow's episode of 90210. Lisa's song, "Venn Diagram" will be featured on the iconic teen drama.

Music supervisor for the show is none other than KCRW's Nic Harcourt, who featured Lisa on his show "Tuned In", back in December.

The CW site features music from the show, as well as a link to their Last.fm channel. Check back to see if Venn Diagram gets added. 90210 airs at 8 pm/7 Central in the US, and at 9 pm Eastern in Canada. Check your local listings for air times.

As part of The Tony Fenton Show Christmas Special last week, Lisa performed a new song, "Christmas Past" with Mick Flannery. The show was recorded live on the roof of Today FM on December 5, and other guests taking part in the festivities included Joe Chester, Gemma Hayes, Jack L, and Wallis Bird.
