The Colbert Report

Hello there,

Yesterday was up there with getting the petite 990 as one of my favourite days.

Stephen Colbert is my hero.

I am, literally, wearing the t-shirt.

And the hat.

Here are links to the episode..

He saw our "I Don't Know" in the pub and asked if we were about. I don't know what to say I'm so chuffed.

I will be wearing my hat for the remainder of the tour, possibly removing it for showers.

(although it's more likely that it will be removed from my cold dead head, as if I were in the NRA and it was my "Sweetness")

Hi! I just saw you on the colbert report and you reminded me (voice wise) of PJ Harvey and otherwise of lots of other bands I like but of course you don't want to hear how similar you are to other people. I can just say that I enjoyed listening to you and your band and if you ever find yourself in the area of french switzerland (say lausanne or montreux) my family and I would be happy to show you around and show you where the best beers are (or whatever). Good luck with everything else

Your show in Louisville was amazing.  Both groups, honestly, just an honor to watch.

I've sent word to friends in Houston and Austin to drop everything and find your show.  Hope you come back soon.  (But to a different venue... please. I beg you.)

Dear (Miss) L' Hannigan,
-(and "comment posters", too, reading along with you)...

(How cool that) "I heard you first". The day after that lovely little lullaby on (his) show I was at the music store for a look around and accidentally, almost immediately, saw "B-sides"..., (with your "grump" hanging out on the cover); I confused (him) with Damon Reece -which was odd- until only about an hour ago..., which is even way ...odder(?), (but it's because I've been alot about the Cocteau Twins lately), and because I heard you first, which, too, is odd... (though very cool); and so, (YOU), turned it into a "2-for-1". So I got it and you know what? Moody Mooday -blew me away! Then, Woman like a Man, because, mostly, (in BOTH cases), of your very cool, raspy, Bjorkesque style/sing-a-long: during the chorus, what are ya sayin'?... "well, whatever it is..." I love it, bought it -twice- and (you know), naturally, next will be: your new, cleverly created, creative debut -before O, or 9..., (and d' ya know why?...), "you-know-I-know" which first full-length I want with mine.
-(he) smiles, and submits-
P.S.  -cool picture(S). and, post-post-script, "petite 990"?, what's that?-

Lisa, can I ask that you put out a "Blurry" single? I enjoy listening to it on youtube, but I would like a version for in the car and ipod.
I know you just left the US, but when you're thinking of doing your next tour, try to make a stop in Florida. I would greatly enjoy it if you came to Gainesville, but anywhere in the northern part of the state would be welcome.

Hi Lisa,

I'm new to the site as of this evening.  Before today, I only knew of you from your appearances on Damien Rice's records.  However, that all changed when I heard your song "Lille" on thesixtyone.com today.  I listened several times on there and have now watched the accompanying video quite a few times, as well.

My grandfather passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening and while I don't know if your original meaning for the song is exactly relevant to my situation, it certainly felt so.  Especially the first verse.  Both the video and song are beautiful and brought tears to my eyes, even as I sat at work.

It was almost difficult to watch/hear, but I wanted to write you somehow (couldn't find any fan/press email contact on the site) to thank you for crafting that song.  I shared it with my family, and though it is somewhat melancholy and painfully stirring for us, it has helped immensely with the mourning process.

Hopefully you'll read this, or someone will let you know about this post because I would love for you to know that your music has affected me and my family in a deep and meaningful way.  If there's any way you could send me an email or something to let me know you got this, that would be wonderful... but I understand if not.

God bless.  Oh, and I'll be picking up your album very soon :-)

Thanks,
Matt

Hey Lisa,
I'm glad to see Stephen Colbert is your hero, he's mine too. I saw you on the show (I'm sure you're used to hearing that) and love your music. I was actually in NY in January and saw the Colbert Report live, I wish you were the guest that day but it was still a good time. Anyway, just wanted to let you know how how much I love the new album and the videos of you in the pub. I hope you make it over to the D.C. area in America sometime. Then again, I'll be in Ireland sometime in June. I'll keep a look out for any tour dates I can get to.

Keep doing what you do,
-Kenny

Hello,

Colbert is my hero as well. Have you seen him play Noblet in 'Strangers With Candy'? Noblet expresses impotent rage like no other!

If you feel like touring with 'The Flaming Lips' I would buy all the tickets in support of it. It would be a perfect storm of good vibes.

Much love,
Aaron

Hi Lisa!

I had thought the first I heard you was on NPR's All Things Considered, but when I went to YouTube to check out the vids, I realized I'd seen the official "Lille" vid at some time looking for something else, and now seeing the Colbert clip -- big fan of the man myself, got the wrist band ;-) -- I realize I've been a fan a lot longer than than I thought!   You are one amazingly talented bundle of brilliance; take it from one who is all thumbs when it comes to musical instruments, and all frog when it comes to singing ;-)   I've combed through a bunch of your stuff on YouTube -- including the stuff with Damien and Gary and....
This is getting to be way too fanboy-ish to continue, so just let me finish by saying I really hope sometime you get down Indianapolis, Indiana way.  Love your work.  Your special.
Thanks for sharing your talent with the rest of us.
