Next Monday

Hey there,

If any of you guys are in Dublin next Monday (February 8) get yourselves over to Vicar Street to see The Low Anthem. We toured with these guys in the US last year and they were astounding.

They also have a bigger harmonium than I do, so I love them and hate them in equal measure. Maybe a couple of you could distract them while I steal it.

Thank you in advance,
Lisa

Unfortunately, I won't be able to go ): but that video is so..."!" It makes me miss sailing. There is so much freedom in it and haven't gone since I was about eleven or twelve. As for the song, Sometimes it is nice not knowing where the horizon will take us but still having a sense of direction and goals to reach. I may be misinterpreting the lyrics of course. Anyways, this made my week a little less stressful so thanks for posting!

They were astounding. Team Hannigan + The Low Anthem was a wonderful evening of music!  I'll be seeing them again when they open for The Avett Brothers in Minneapolis on 5 March, so if the big keyboard hasn't been nicked already I'll see what I can do.

Hi Lisa,

I'm not sure if this is the best way to get in touch but it's worth a try...

I'm a really big fan and I just wanted to ask you if you'd like to take a minute to have a look at a lil art/social experiment that I'm doing at the mo.

It's called Positive Post-its and basically I'm just asking people to write/draw something positive/happy/inspiring/uplifting/funny/random on a post-it and leave it somewhere in public for somebody else to find...but you have to try and do it anonymously without getting caught!

The idea is to spread a lil joy - the project motto is a quote from Mark Twain - "The best way to cheer yourself up to to cheer somebody else up".

So yeah, I thought that maybe you might like it and I could use as much support/promotion as I can get so if someone awesome like you got involved it'd be sooper!!

The facebook page for it is here -> http://www.facebook.com/pages/Positive-Post-its-3/288284695748 if you wanna take a peek!

Anywho, sorry if this ends up annoying you!

Oh that Lisa Hannigan
What a glorious shenanigan!

Though my favourite crisps used to be Brannigans
Now I only savour Lisa Hannigan

She’s Tom Waits in a dress
Nick Drake with black tress

Though I have to confess
This poem is a mess

My mind’s so distracted
All shaky and contracted

By that Lisa Hannigan
Oh what a fine shenanigan!
